BIKE DEARBORN – FIRST DOZEN: 53rd Annual Ride
JANUARY 1st Every Year
Bike Dearborn’s First Dozen – Your first 12 miles of the New Year! This is a 50+ year bike ride tradition in the City of Dearborn started by the Dearborn Cycling Saddlemen and passed along to Bike Dearborn in 2019.

TIME: Registration starts at 1:00p. Ride Starts 2:00p.
COST: FREE with a suggested donation of $12
Volunteers needed for:
– Sag Truck Driver
– Photography
– Sweeper/Support for Individual Riders
While this event remains free and accessible to all, we are asking for a donation of $12 to participate.
The funds that we raise support the purchase and maintenance of the public bike repair stations we have installed throughout the city as well as future educational programming.

We will have a mass start at 2p. You can choose to race through the route as fast or slow as you want on your own or with a group of friends.

Ride with us at a 10-12mph moderate pace with a Ride Leader and Sweepers as a contained group ride. **Volunteers Needed**
If 12 seems too much, there is an easy access short cut as you arrive to Outer Drive and Newman to cut back to the start point to complete a 7 mile route.
We will once again provide SAG via truck and on-bike ride support via route sweepers.
If you do choose to ride, you ride at your own risk and must sign our liability waiver.
Follow all traffic safety laws as they pertain to cyclists.
A helmet is required!

Printable Cue Sheet and Waiver – You may print and bring your own Waiver Form to save time at registration. Paper Map/Cue Sheet – We will have a limited supply of these available at the ride Start with SAG information listed.
HELMETS ARE REQUIRED!
Please make sure to have a spare tube in case you need it. We will help change the flat, but you need to have the appropriate supply!
Helmets are mandatory!
You will be riding on open road throughout west Dearborn…sharing the road with motor vehicles.
You are required to follow all traffic laws and stop at all red lights!
Ride no more than two abreast, and be courteous to the motor vehicles as you would want them to be to you.
We will have a couple of volunteers to slowly make their way through the route behind ALL participants to make sure no one is left behind.
We will also have a vehicle available with a bike rack should someone not be able to finish, or have a mechanical issue that can’t be repaired on the road.
Children are welcome with an accompanying adult. Please know your child’s limit to ride the route safely with you as well as handle the cold weather.
You must sign a waiver before the ride releasing the City of Dearborn and Bike Dearborn from any liability to participate in this event.
