John Daybell – Treasurer
After being hired to work for Ford in 2017, John moved to Dearborn with his family in tow. After a few months he realized that bicycling to work would be just as fast, or faster, than driving each day. Biking through Dearborn and the surrounding area showed him great it was to really get into the community and see it outside the confines of a car. John joined Bike Dearborn to help make cycling easier and more appealing so that everyone can see how great Dearborn really is.

Ann is a 40 year resident of Dearborn where she has lived with her late husband and two daughters.  Her three grandchildren and mother who is 94 years young keep her busy.   Ann retired from the Taylor School District where she was a teacher and consultant for 36 years.

In her free time Ann enjoys biking, golfing, swimming, playing Pickleball, skiing, swimming and traveling.  She has completed 25 week long Michigander Bike Tours and highly recommends exploring Michigan from the seat of a bike!

Carmel Price, Ph.D., MSW
Carmel is a sociologist on faculty at the University of Michigan – Dearborn. She developed a love for cycling while living in Washington, DC and working as an AmeriCorps member for the National AIDS Fund. She quickly realized that it was more pleasant to get around DC by bike than car. She also had the pleasure of biking 330 miles (in four days) through the Shenandoah Mountains from Richmond, VA to Washington, DC to raise money for AIDS.

Currently Carmel serves on the Steering Committee for Healthy Dearborn and commutes regularly from her home in Dearborn to/ from campus. As someone who has been hit by a car while cycling, twice, she cares deeply about bike education for both cyclists and automobile drivers. She also has a passion for issues of equity, including issues of mobility access.

Ashley Sornig
Ashley is a 5-year Dearborn Resident and longtime recreational cyclist. In her spare time Ashley can be found training for short distance triathlons and aqua bikes, volunteers her time with local charitable organizations, swimming, and traveling. She is a fair-weather cyclist who sometimes ventures out in less than fair weather but can be found on her bike trainer year-round.

Ashley became a big cycling safety advocate after many close calls on her own bike and having a helmet save someone she holds dearly. Ashley recently joined the Bike Dearborn team and is looking forward to becoming more active in the local Dearborn cycling scene and community.

Chris Timco
Chris was intrigued by learning about biking in Copenhagen. Although Chris doesn’t actively ride a bike, he supports biking and walking as alternative forms of transportation and exercise. Chris is one of the original members of Bike Dearborn and supports the efforts of the group as we continually evolve.
