**Not all repairs may be possible on site. You may be referred to bringing your bike into the shop for more extensive repairs that may incur labor and parts fees.
BUSINESSES THAT ARE INTERESTED IN HOSTING: We are looking for local Dearborn businesses that want to host/sponsor one of our Slow Rollin’ Wednesdays this season. We’re looking for family friendly businesses in all areas of the city!! If you have a business or know a business that would be interested, PLEASE SCROLL DOWN for more information.
Who: Bike Dearborn is a community bicycle advocacy group. We promote cycling safety while encouraging our community to hop on and ride…whether it’s for exercise and recreation or using a bicycle for transportation and commuting.
What: Slow Rollin’ Wednesdays is our flagship weekly community bike ride. May 24, 2023 – October 18, 2023. Bike Dearborn at its core believes in supporting our local businesses in Dearborn. The slow roll style bike ride encourages community members from all walks of life to gather, socialize, and patronize the local businesses that host our events while exploring all areas of our great city! Our Slow Rollin’ Wednesdays have attracted dozens of cyclists of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities each week since 2016.
Where: At your Business. Slow Rollin’ Wednesdays take place on Wednesdays May through October. We encourage our participants to arrive between 5:45 and 6p to visit and patronize the business. We roll after we review safety and take a group photo at 6:30p and return about an hour or so later. The business may not be open when we return depending on their business hours…that’s OK.
Why: Bike Dearborn’s tagline motto is Building Community, Outreach, Give Back, and Advocacy. Our Slow Rollin’ Wednesdays build community and are a form of outreach. We are not only introducing community members to the joy of riding bikes, we are carving out bike routes throughout the city while supporting the local economy by introducing our participants to businesses and areas in our city that they may not be familiar with.
Business Responsibility: Be open and welcoming. We introduce our participants to the great local businesses all over our great city! We want them to feel welcome and in turn come back with their friends and family building a lifelong relationship with your business! There is nothing more required of you as a business. However, many of our host businesses in the past will go above and beyond by giving a special discount the evening of the community bike ride, a coupon for future use, or provide samples or snacks for our participants. It’s up to you. Please let us know if you plan to provide anything so we can be sure to put the info in the event posting.
Thank you for seven great seasons of Walk n Roll!!! Due to the low interest in the Walk portion the last couple seasons, the lack of a consistent walk leader, and solid promotion/marketing of that segment, we will be transitioning to a Roll Only event.
Please join Bike Dearborn -The Group for more info and schedule for the NEW Bike Dearborn Slow Rollin’ Wednesdays! A fun COMMUNITY ride for all! We look forward to a successful 8th Season of Rolling Slow while supporting our businesses and community in all corners of Dearborn!
